Entrepreneur

jIn 2019, I purchased a school bus from an auction with the vision of transforming it into a tiny house on wheels. That vision has slowly manifested itself and I am enjoying the simple life as I travel across the country with my Irish Wolfhound, Maeve. The nomadic life has taught me minimalist values and environmentally friendly practices as I get the pleasure of exploring this magnificent and vast creation. Chasing the horizon and embracing mother earth as I handle my businesses remotely has been my life’s dream, and I’m eternally grateful to pass through the great lands that were here long before us and will be long after.

My cultural background is Anishinaabe (meaning “the good humans”), a group of indigenous peoples centered around the Great Lakes. The Native American values passed down from my elders I hold dear to my heart, and they have cultivated an ever-present respect of the land in me. Sustainability and the ways in which growing technology will help our planet is interesting to me. The environment is a passion of mine and I love educating those interested in the benefits of skoolie life. While I am on my series of adventures, I hope to cross paths with like-minded individuals and swap stories over a campfire.

I’ve been an entrepreneur from a young age, building computers and starting my own tech company, and worked with an IT firm out in California. I lead guided expeditions to beautiful lakeshore locations in Michigan. Throughout my life, I’ve had the joy of getting to experience many avenues. This is the next chapter of my life and I look forward to sharing it with those interested in hearing it.

 Philanthropic Projects

A large motivator in my business endeavors is to help people. There is a tremendous satisfaction in aiding others in their aspirations. Through Arrowhead Incubator, a nonprofit I co-founded in 2019, we have the wonderful privilege of assisting Native American companies in finding funding and grant opportunities, as well as providing project development and marketing help, public relations, expertise mentorship and more.

MakwaUSA is my business for tech, business consulting and market research. Our services include business and project development as well as help with state, federal, and tribal contracting. This allows businesses to fulfill their potential and pursue the advantages available to them.

I also am involved in a project that teaches leadership and gives Native American youth a way to express themselves. The program engages the youth’s minds in energy transportation and the 7 grandfather teachings that encourage love for the earth. They are encouraged to develop their ideas, and design a program and initiative regarding sustainability and renewable energy. This gives them a platform for innovation and lets them know that as they are the future, their voices are being heard.
